Ukraine Ministry

start a fundraising campaign

Despite years of war, political and economic instability, MB churches in Ukraine continue to embrace their mission of reaching the lost with the Gospel, and discipling believers in the Word and ways of Jesus. In the midst of the unimaginable hardships of displacement, grief and loss, there is hope.

This umbrella project helps support ministries that are serving to heal, restore and transform a weary and war-torn nation. These ministries include Ukraine Church Planting—established and emerging churches in constant flux as some are closed by occupying forces and others emerge among the displaced in new areas—as well as holistic Gospel initiatives that focus on the least reached and those in greatest need. Ukraine MB Camp Ministries bring the Gospel to children, youth-at-risk and whole families; New Hope Center under Maxym Oliferovski, director of Multiply Ukraine, offers emergency shelter, resettlement assistance, therapy, fellowship and the hope of Jesus to those in need; Ukraine Trauma Retreats offer desperately needed respite to families who have been traumatized by unrelenting air raid sirens and missile attacks.

For current updates on these and other ministries, see postings to our Ukraine in Crisis page. To see ways in which you can participate in these ministries, visit our Ukraine Team page.

As you support these ministries, know that you also strengthen the legacy of all Mennonite Brethren churches, who had their genesis in Ukraine. Birthed in 1860 out of a revival movement among German-speaking Mennonite communities, a newly energized expression of faith and evangelistic fervor blossomed, was refined, and emerged as the faith movement known as Mennonite Brethren. When military conscription was mandated during the Russian Communist Revolution, an MB diaspora occurred, with many choosing to immigrate to South and North America, where new communities were established, churches planted, Bible Schools founded, and a global mission impetus launched the first stages of what is now Multiply.

Together, that Ukraine may know Jesus.
