Prayer Works

John & Jenn Johnstone - Canada

“In May we hosted a group of First Nations young adults for a wellness retreat, teaching skills like healthy conflict resolution and cooking, while enjoying fishing and night dip at a nearby lake. I (Jenn) am personally going through training—as well as participating—in a prayer-led trauma workshop specifically for First Nations people. Once I am finished, I will be able to lead and train others. Not going to lie—it’s been a lot, and brings up old wounds. We have also been helping out on a local reserve in tangible ways: cleaning, yard work, and just building relationships. Please pray for several camps coming up that will be held on the reserve, where John often speaks and encourages youth to praise God in ways that includes their culture.”

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. ~ Isaiah 61:1

Doug Hiebert - Sub-Saharan Africa

“A regional gathering in May met with tremendous success, as twenty leaders came together to be encouraged, to be fortified, to be renewed in vision, and to build togetherness with fellow African leaders. These gatherings are so strategic: an opportunity for each one to be reminded about the goal of the King—His Kingdom and His reign in this world.”

Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. ~ Revelation 15:3
