Ukraine Church Planting

start a fundraising campaign

Will you help the MB churches in Ukraine to reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus in ways that will serve to heal, restore and transform their nation?

Over the years, Multiply has partnered MB churches in Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Berdyansk, Balkove, Novomoskovsk, Mykolay-Pole, Kherson and Molochansk to support church planting initiatives. All of these churches have been a thriving part of the Ukrainian MB conference of churches (AMBCU).

War, however, changes everything.

With church buildings in occupied territory seized by Russian troops, many in the community are forced to flee and relocate as refugees. Any who remain behind are unable to meet openly for fear of retaliation. Churches in Molochansk, Berdyansk and Balkove have been affected. The church plant in Dnipro, a city under constant missile fire, has been forced to relocate to Western Ukraine; others had to leave the church in Berdyansk and flee to Vinnytsia in Central Ukraine.

Despite all of this, God has continued to pour out his blessing on our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. In Vinnytsia, they have launched a new church that has seen multiple conversions and baptisms. As more leaders are emerging and being trained, more churches are being launched, such as those in Dnipro, another church in Zaporizhzhia (God’s Family MB Church), and the rapidly-growing church plant and social initiative in Kyiv which is addressing the practical needs of the displaced while introducing them to Jesus and drawing them into the fellowship of his family.

Pastors and church planters in this context are embracing a holistic approach to bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the least reached, marginalized, and those who find themselves on the fringes of society socially, economically and spiritually. This includes extending practical pastoral care to individuals, families, and entire communities with provisions for emergency relief, counseling for families in crisis, training for youth at risk, and urgently needed community development projects.

The AMBCU churches and church plants are organizing ongoing relief efforts among those impacted by war by providing shelter, food, medicine, water, help with resettlement, and the eternal hope of the Gospel. They partner closely with the European Mennonite Relief Organization (EMRO) as well as Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) to strengthen the network of those handling emergency relief and long-term relief programs in Ukraine.

Donations to the project will help bring the healing hope of the Gospel to a war-ravaged nation.
