Naga Gospel Outreach and Agricultural Development

Project Goal: $3,059

Would you help bring the hope of the Gospel to remote villages in Myanmar?

The Naga Gospel Outreach and Agricultural Development project aims to plant coffee crops in Naga state, Myanmar. The vision of our team is to bring the Hope of the Gospel, discipleship training and economic development to desperately impoverished people.

Naga is a uniquely “Christian” State. Yet Lai ya, our coffee company leader can only count 6 people from her people group who have ever graduated from high school in her large community of over 300,000 people.

It’s because of extreme poverty, the proliferation of opium and the lack of education for children, that Lai ya envisions training farmers to plant coffee. The church does exist in many of these villages but “tithing opium” and addiction is only making the church weaker.

Lai ya and her team of national disciple makers believe that they are called by God to replace opium fields with healthy crops like coffee. They also envision discipling farmers and young people to passionately follow Jesus at our Bright Lantern Discipleship-Coffee Processing Centre.

Lai ya dreams of a day where her “Konyak” people will not be famous for being “the Naga people most addicted to opium” but where her community is known for “the Naga people who repented of their opium addiction and choose to follow the commands of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The coffee seedlings donated will go to thirty impoverished villages in her region.

Since 2017, Multiply has been investing in reaching Myanmar people groups with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since that time, they have witnessed hundreds of Buddhists come to faith in Jesus, more than forty pastors and evangelists trained, with 26 new churches planted!

One of the business ventures that is propelling the Gospel forward in Myanmar is the Bright Lantern Coffee Co: a team of national pastors and church planters who are growing and selling ethically sourced coffee, allowing them to become self-sustaining in their ministry of bringing the Gospel to the least reached of Myanmar.

The Naga Gospel Outreach and Agricultural Development project is under the oversight of Multiply’s Dave & Louise Sinclair-Peters, Regional Coach and Regional Team Leader for Myanmar and Central Thailand.

Your donations to this project will help to bring the light of the Gospel to remote mountain villages in Myanmar through the purchase and distribution of 200 kgs. of coffee seeds.
