Brazil Boat Project

start a fundraising campaign

MOBILE MEDICAL CLINIC & TRAINING CENTER

Will you help bring the hope of the Gospel and a tangible expression of God’s love to the Purus River?

The Brazil Boat Project aims at reaching indigenous people groups living along the Purus River, one of the main tributaries of the Amazon River. The vast majority of these people groups have never heard the Gospel and live in isolated communities that require a five to ten-day boat ride to reach the nearest city, and, more urgently, the nearest medical facility. This project will provide quality medical care, share the Good News, and provide discipleship training opportunities for new believers through a mobile medical clinic: a catamaran (boat) refurbished to accommodate a medical/dental clinic, classrooms for training believers, and extra sleeping quarters for medical staff, missionaries and crew. This project will allow for a consistent medical and spiritual presence among those who need it most.

INITIAL FUNDING NEEDED:  $45,000 USD / $61,000 CAD

Further anticipated monthly costs for maintenance and fuel will be met by the mission agency of the Brazil MB conference (AMCOBIM), with partnership invited to provide for monthly expenses of medical supplies, training materials and crew salaries; a total of approximately $2000 USD/mo.
