The Best Gift Ever

Noi and Muay are new believers at RimKhan Fellowship Church, and have been continually motivated to grow in their relationship with God. Originally from Myanmar, they came to Thailand looking for work, and heard about Jesus from a church member. They made a faith decision in October 2023, attended our Thai MB Family Camp, and declared their commitment to Jesus through baptism.

Last December, we asked if they would host a Christmas outreach in the area outside the single room they are renting, and they were very excited for the opportunity to share their testimonies. Eighteen people attended, and seven responded to the Gospel invitation! It was a day of great rejoicing together, as we planned for Noi and Muay to visit these new believers for follow-up.

In the midst of celebration, however, the spiritual battle was very real.

At our final, Christmas Eve outreach, we noticed that Muay came alone, which seemed strange. Toward the end of the event, Noi did arrive, but he didn’t talk with anyone, and he left quickly. Our team member, Cynthia, went to Muay and found out that this couple had been experiencing  great relational conflict since the event that they hosted, and had decided to separate. We were all very concerned, and felt that it was important to talk with them both together that very night. Muay took us to where her husband was staying and, when he opened the door, he looked amazed to see us.

“I was just looking at my baptism certificate,” he said, “remembering how we were baptized together—me, my wife and my daughter. I felt so sad to be apart now. I had just prayed for God to help, when I heard your voice at my door, and now—here is my wife!”

As we talked together about how to apologize and forgive each other, I told them, “Jesus came so that we can have reconciliation with God and with each other. This is the best gift that we, as humans, can receive.”

Hearing this, Noi apologized and was forgiven. As he collected his belongings to return home with his wife, they thanked God for being powerful enough to make reconciliation possible, through Jesus. That evening, Noi and Muay received this gift from him, and when they woke up on Christmas morning, they woke up together.
