Audio Bible distribution for Mozambique and Amazon
Our national partners in Brazil, serving with Emerson Cardoso, Multiply’s Regional Team Leader for Latin America, have been actively working to bring the Bible in audio format to remote areas of Mozambique and the Amazon. They are using Cartão do Céu, a micro-SD cell phone memory card developed by an organization called HCJB (Heralding Christ Jesus Blessings), which was first launched as a radio broadcast in Ecuador almost one hundred years ago. This tool has served to advance the Gospel all over the world among the non-literate and vision impaired.
The Cartão do Céu cards contain the complete Bible, both in audio and written format, as well as the Jesus Movie and other discipleship resources. Multiply’s team collaborating on ministry resourcing and expansion in Latin American and Lusophone (Portuguese-speaking) countries is distributing these cards in Portuguese, a language common to most indigenous people of the Amazon as well as to those in tribal Mozambique. The tool is also being distributed among youth and young adults in both urban and rural areas of Latin America to encourage them to create an accessible and sustainable rhythm of reflection on Scripture, rather than only spend time on their devices scrolling social media.
Donations to this project will enable the production of these cards on a larger scale for use in Brazil, Mozambique, and in other Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries where our team is ministering.
