The Pickaxe Project

The word “Pickaxe” conveys the intensity of the labor involved in breaking ground with both skeptics and seekers in the secular cultures of Western Europe. In this context, intentional cultural engagement through media and the arts is forging new pathways to encountering Jesus.
The PräsentKirche MB church in Dortmund is looking to reach their community through music, podcasts, film, book projects, social justice initiatives and an engaging website that invites seekers to explore the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Their vision is to use creative genres to connect with people, share the Gospel, and grow communities that are committed to following Jesus.
This six year (2024-2029) project has several phases. Donations made to this project will go towards Phase I expenses, which will total approximately $30,500 USD | $41,475 CAD.
- Development of a bilingual website with an integrated connection to social media to raise awareness of the project and create a possible source of revenue for church planting in Europe, with costs totaling approximately $2650 USD / $3575 CAD
- Purchase of instruments and recording equipment towards the production of original music, with costs totaling approximately $2600 USD / $3500 CAD.
- Studio recording costs, totaling approximately $23,500 USD / $32,000 CAD
- Travel costs for public performances will total approximately $1750 USD / $2400 CAD
