Cox’s Bazar: 20/20 Vision Women’s Discipleship & Business Training
Despite the escalating opposition faced by Christians in Bangladesh, remarkable stories of salvation are emerging, as the Gospel is transforming people, families, and entire communities. One such place is Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
Over 1.1 million Rohingya are living in refugee camps in this area, where violence and poverty have created a humanitarian crisis. Often it is the women who carry the responsibility of caring for their families, with very few resources or opportunities. By training these women in a marketable skill, opportunities for the Gospel to impact the displaced are multiplied.
The goal of this project is to make disciples of Jesus while helping Rohingya women in Bangladesh develop practical business skills to care for their families, become more self-sustaining, and grow as leaders who can serve and disciple others.
During their training, women learn vision-related skills to test vision and make eyeglasses, as well as business skills that will help them to become self-sustaining. At the same time, they are discipled in their Christian walk, evangelism, prayer, leading Discovery Bible Studies, and more.
