Until his Last Breath

He was raised by a faithful Christian mother who never stopped sowing God’s Word into her children, but Noli hardened his heart and pursued a life in the world. He even fell into drugs, which then led to eight years in prison.

Noli’s life is a testimony of God’s redeeming grace, like the prodigal son who once strayed far from home.

He was raised by a faithful Christian mother who never stopped sowing God’s Word into her children, but Noli hardened his heart and pursued a life in the world. He even fell into drugs, which then led to eight years in prison. But it was there, in that place of brokenness, that he encountered Jesus. The Gospel was shared with him, he received Christ as his Lord and Savior, and his faith grew stronger through prayer, worship, and Bible study.

After his release from prison, his body continued to be weakened by long-term diabetes and, eventually, dialysis. Still, Noli’s spirit remained steadfast. He continued to worship and draw near to God despite his condition. Eventually, his health declined, and doctors told him that the dialysis could no longer continue.

In his final days, Noli prepared his heart to meet the Lord. He requested to be baptized again in his own way and, surrounded by his family and his church family, he publicly declared his faith and his longing for God’s presence.

When he reached the point where he could no longer go to church, the church came to him—bringing worship, prayer, and the Word right into his own home. Night after night, Noli’s house became a place of worship and evangelism to family, friends, and neighbors.

Until his last breath, Noli kept praising God, thanking Him for a salvation that he knew he did not deserve, yet had freely received in Christ. It was while a service was being held recently in his house that the Lord called Noli peacefully into His presence—a beautiful reminder of God’s unfailing love, and how He restores the lost, forgives the repentant, and brings His children home.

May the seeds of the Gospel planted in every heart that heard his testimony continue to grow and draw many closer to Jesus Christ.
