My name is Ma Soe. I live in a village on the border between Thailand and Myanmar. I have been a Buddhist my whole life, but when Pastor Khun Myat first started visiting our village, I decided to offer him the area beside my house for his teaching. When he was there sharing, I would busy myself in the kitchen, cooking for the crowd that gathered. From there, I still could hear everything he was sharing about Jesus. It was very interesting, but what really touched my heart was the worship music. Listening to that, I felt something change within me, something seemed to be speaking to my heart as they sang.
Over the weeks that followed, I experienced a serious challenge to my health. As I continued to slowly deteriorate, I finally went to the hospital. There, a doctor found a large tumor in my abdomen and told me that they would need to operate. It was a shock.
Yet even as I heard this news from the doctor, I found my mind wandering back to the worship songs I had heard, back to the message about Jesus being a God who is alive, powerful, a healer and a savior. I didn’t know a lot about Jesus yet, but in that moment, I began to pray that he would heal my illness. I prayed simple prayers—and guess what! When I went back to the doctor for my scheduled operation, there was absolutely no sign of the tumor! It was gone! Just like that—Jesus did it!
I found myself with this amazing testimony of what Jesus can do, and so I began sharing it with those I knew. Some listened, some did not. Then one day, one of my co-workers was injured at work. There was a nail stuck in his ankle, blood was pouring out of the wound and we were far from any medical care. I asked my co-worker if I could pray for healing in the name of Jesus. He said, “Yes, pray!” and so I did. I asked God to bring healing to this man, as he had done for me, and the bleeding stopped instantly!
Jesus is truly God and he can do all things! He is so good!”
