TeachBeyond: Teacher Training at King's Kid School, Uganda
King's Kid Primary School in Uganda is partnering with TeachBeyond, an organization that provides both opportunities for educators to serve globally and also professional development training for educators around the world. Their aim is to provide a Biblical approach to education while enhancing the skills and knowledge of teachers, enabling them to create a more effective and nurturing learning environment that fosters Gospel transformation.
King’s Kid School provides quality Christian education for children who are impacted by systemic poverty are often unable to overcome challenges to academic and vocational training. The school seeks to make education accessible to such children, while also attracting families from the community who are able to pay full tuition. Professional development for the teachers, leading to improved educational outcomes for students, will increase the scope of the tuition-paying student body and further the school’s goal of self-sustainability. This, in turn, will facilitate more scholarships for children who are impoverished.
Together with our global workers in Multiply and key national partner, Robert Mponye, training will be facilitated over the course of two-and-one-half years, covering essential teaching methodologies for child development, classroom discipleship and lesson planning, as well as facilitating vital teacher assessment.
Donations to this project will help cover the cost of eight sessions of professional development for teachers at King’s Kid Elementary School, at a cost of approximately $625 USD per session. The total cost of the 2.5 year program is $5000 USD.
