WHAT IS TREK

TREK is a team-based mission experience aimed to introduce you to the basics of life on mission. Each team receives in-depth, in-field training and serves alongside local and global church mission partners. This program is designed for those ages 18-25 who are exploring their missional identity and calling and runs from September through to April. Regional orientation retreats take place in Central and Eastern Canada, with service assignments both in North America and with international partners.

WHY TREK

ENCOUNTER

Encounter the living God in community.

LEARN

Grow your understanding of God, the church, yourself, and creation.

SERVE

Live the Gospel in the real world.

SEMESTER 1:
NORTH AMERICA

Semester 1 is the North American assignment phase. It begins with two weeks of team training/orientation in Manitoba before joining one of our local mission partners somewhere in North America. While being immersed in life-on-life discipleship with our local mission practitioners, you will continue to receive regular, remote training from our Multiply staff team. As next steps are discerned, ministry opportunities may include low-income housing units, rehabilitation centers, after-school programs, discipleship huddles for new believers and/or a multitude of other holistic mission ventures. TREK teams regroup in Ontario at the end of November for several days of debrief before beginning orientation for the international mission phase.

SEMESTER 2:
INTERNATIONAL ASSIGNMENT

Semester 2 is the international assignment phase, with one week of orientation in Ontario before joining one of our international teams. You will spend a significant amount of time familiarizing yourself with a new language and culture and being discipled by our long-term workers in partnership with national leaders. As next steps are discerned, ministry opportunities may include working with children, university students, rural church networks, inner city ministries, and/or a multitude of other holistic mission ventures. TREK teams return to North America for two weeks of debrief in mid-April, providing an important space in which to process with God and others the highs and lows of the mission experience. Together, you will discern God’s invitation to continue with him on his mission to reach the lost, wherever that may be.
