Evangelism
Share the Gospel through Music in Thailand
Chenchu Forest Ministry focuses on tribal people who are living in remote areas and do not know Christ. These are animistic people groups who worship ancestral gods. These groups are responding to the Gospel presented by Indian evangelists and yet travel to these communities is difficult and costly.
One local mission worker was happy to give this report from the Chenchu Forest Ministry: “We are very much delighted to inform you that by the grace of God and by your prayers, after years of building a good rapport with these people, we are able to give them baptism.”
God has raised up a team of church planters, evangelists and interns to reach the Burmese. National leaders are being equipped to return to unreached villages in their home country. Some leaders face opposition ranging from interpersonal conflict to violent sabotage of their work and for those without the ability to communicate by phone, the dangers and difficulties increase.
At a recent public meeting with residents from one of the key villages, the new mayor spoke very openly about tensions in the community. He asked the residents very plainly, “Are we going to support the Christians living among us and work with them to improve our community, or are we going to side with their enemies to kick them out?” Prayers were answered when the village decided to offer their support.

Give the Gift of Clear Sight
Show God’s love in a practical way by providing eyeglasses to those in need, creating opportunities for evangelism.
About 2.5 billion people worldwide have no access to optometrists. Through Global Vision Partnerships, you can help solve this by providing corrective eyeglasses to those who suffer from visual impairment. In the countries where we run this program, local people are able to diagnose eyeglass prescriptions with as little as three hours of training. This system delivers prescription glasses for under $5. In the hands of faith communities around the world, this tool not only helps the poor and oppressed by giving them access to vision treatment, it also provides a living wage for church leaders and creates opportunities for them to share the Gospel in their regions. Our teams around the world have embraced this initiative as it impacts communities and changes lives.
Provide the startup capital for an Angolan woman to start her own sewing, handicrafts or retail business. This project assists women who are struggling to live and raise their children. Many are widows who are caring for their own children alone, or for orphans who have no one else.
In a culture where men are viewed as superior to women, the men hold the financial power. It can be impossible for a woman to survive without suffering abuse. We empower these women and help them make a living in what seems like an impossible situation. Providing them with the startup capital and training necessary to start a small business allows these women to better care for their children.
Church Planting
Help Plant Churches in North India
Provide a motorcycle or cover travel expenses for an Indian church planter to travel to remote villages to share the Gospel. There are more unreached people groups in North India than anywhere else in the world. Indian church planters and international workers are working together to plant churches. Motorcycles and scooters are a key means of transportation for church planters who travel to remote locations to share the Gospel. These vehicles allow people in difficult-to-reach villages hear about Jesus for the first time.
Several years ago, in a remote mountain valley in North India, a man from South India gave a Gospel tract to a young man named Jamal. The two men talked briefly about Jesus and then the man was gone.
In the days, months and years that followed, Jamal struggled with unanswered questions about Jesus and set out on a journey to discover more. He had to search for years because there were so few believers in the area and those that did follow Jesus risked their lives. Jamal finally found the answers he sought and took a stand himself, becoming a light for Jesus in this remote region.
Help strengthen Malawian believers in their faith by providing a Bible in the Chichewa language. The Mennonite Brethren Church of Malawi (MBCM) is having a significant impact by promoting peace and reconciliation among opposing groups in this region. As churches are multiplying rapidly, Bibles are needed to disciple new believers.
MBCM was born in a refugee camp in central Malawi and has become a fast-growing network of churches. Safari, the son of a pastor in Eastern Congo, planted the first church and is now involved with training their leaders and helping them to evangelize in the area surrounding the refugee camp.
“In my own home, my father was a pastor and I was the leader of the church choir. I loved training young people to sing, but one day I had a dream and God spoke to me: ‘Your time in this church is over.’ I told my father about my dream and he released me to go. So I walked into the nearest town and I was directed to a Mennonite church. I immediately knew that this was my new home."
It was among these Mennonites that Safari learned the importance of forgiveness and the work of peace and reconciliation. He knew that this would be a part of his future ministry and went on to plant a church in a refugee camp some years later.
Children
Help Thai Children at the Abundant Life Home
After the miraculous healing of one of the children at the Abundant Life Home, the doctor at the AIDS clinic asked Karen Sanchez, Abundant Life Home Director, “Are you doing anything special at the Abundant Life Home?”
“Yes, we are,” Karen replied. “We believe that Jesus is alive and he heals today!”
Show God’s Love to Lithuanian Children
Send at-risk children from troubled homes to summer camp or help our daycare center in Siauliai provide a warm, safe place for kids.
The center is hosted in a local church where children are given help with their homework, hot meals and are involved in games, sports and Bible lessons. They also receive an opportunity to participate in Christian summer camps run by the ministry.
Show God’s love to sixty children and thirty parents
by funding one month of family ministry programs at
the New Hope Center.
Years of war have collapsed the economy of eastern Ukraine and left hundreds of thousands of people displaced, unemployed and unable to provide for themselves or their children. Families need a place where they can go for encouragement and support. In this region where the explosions and gunfire are deafening and the streets are littered with fragments of bombed-out buildings, the ministry of New Hope Center is transforming the lives of families, giving them hope and practical help. The New Hope Center runs programs that help children ages 5 to 12 develop and helps their parents learn Christian family values.
“The center is a place where music is playing,” says Maxym Oliferovski, ministry leader, “and you can hear the sound of children laughing.”
Leadership Development
Invest in the future of the Church in Thailand
Poonya became a follower of Jesus through the witness of his brother-in-law, Gaan. Soon after this, he began studying at the Changed Life Center in the Church Leadership Development program.
Upon finishing the program, Poonya partnered with Gaan to take the good news of Jesus to an unreached mountain village. They started by simply showing the love of Jesus in practical ways and helped resource a very poor school in the community. As new classrooms were built, the head of the village, previously opposed to any Christian presence, welcomed them to share the good news there.
People responded and a church was planted. Poonya began training Sumate, a young leader from that village who has now enrolled in the same program at the Changed Life Centre with hopes that he will lead this new church.
Support a weekend seminar for Lithuanian pastors and leaders who are working toward their degrees while continuing in their current jobs/roles. The Evangelical Bible Institute is equipping and discipling church leaders to be more effective in ministry and outreach in Lithuania. Most students are already serving as pastors or elders in their local churches and have a desire to further their training.
Lithuania has one of the highest suicide rates in all of Europe, but churches are being planted there and believers are living in hope and speaking that hope into the lives of the people around them.
Multiply workers, Gediminas and Kristina, have witnessed members of one church community flourish and live into their gifts. “We had this quiet girl join us, Indre, and she started to play guitar, she started developing kid’s ministry, and a girl’s sports ministry… It’s amazing!”
Care for our missionaries
Build a foundation of prayer
The following stories give glimpses into a lifestyle of prayer:
At a youth retreat in Central Asia, Multiply workers followed the Spirit’s prompting to call people forward for prayer. The Holy Spirit began to move in the room as nearly all the young adults came forward. It was a pivotal moment.
When another Multiply worker in Africa was distributing food to those in need, they met a woman who had an injured foot. He took the opportunity to pray for her and she responded immediately with appreciation. This opened a door to share more with her about how to pray to Jesus and hear his voice.
While serving in a refugee camp in the Middle East, other Multiply workers asked permission to pray for the people they met, unsure of how this would be received. Suddenly, they found themselves in a circle, holding hands with numerous refugees who smiled with thanksgiving as tears spilled down their faces. The workers lifted the requests of the refugees to God, asking him to bring back husbands and sons, asking him to heal wounds, asking for his blessing.
These visits are vital to our mission as they provide opportunities to strengthen, empower and equip those who are working together in the harvest.
This reflection of love not only brings healing, but is helpful in allowing these workers to continue effectively in their ministry. Your gift contributes to the counseling and support services necessary for team health.
In Asia, the safety of a family of Multiply workers was threatened by angry and aggressive people. They were able to escape without being physically harmed; however, the children were in tears and the whole family was traumatized by the experience.
When they returned to their home country, the family was offered counseling services covered by Multiply Member Care. This was a crucial part of their re-entry and debrief as they shared; “The counseling sessions helped to restore health to our minds and hearts, and to frame the events in light of God’s kingdom.”
