Testimonies: Anas’s Curiosity

Anas was shocked to learn that there are Christians in his country, Morocco. He was curious and had a strong desire to know the truth of the Christian faith.

Searching for answers on the internet, he came across Moroccan Christians who began some conversations online with him. Anas asked many questions about issues such as the Trinity, the Bible’s reliability, and the similarities he saw between the Bible and the Quran.

After some time, one of the Christians invited Anas to a Gospel gathering. It was there, as he sat listening intently to the story of Jesus Christ, that he felt his heart hungering to learn more. As the topic of Jesus’ crucifixion and his exchanges with the thieves came up, Anas broke down in tears and stated, “In the end, when he reached death, forgiveness and love were in the most beautiful form!” That was the moment that Anas realized the significance of what Jesus had done on the cross and he acknowledged Christ as his Savior.

Anas requested to meet again with his new Christian friend and asked if he could receive a Bible. On the day of their second meeting, Anas came in before they had even sat down at the table and in great anticipation, asked for the Bible. Upon receiving it with shaking hands, he took the book, kissed it joyfully, and listened intently as a brief overview of the Bible was given.

Anas, who joyfully accepted the Good News, commits to spreading the Gospel and to following Jesus till his dying day. He plans on attending a House Church gathering as soon as he is able to, since evangelism is prohibited in Morocco and other countries with a Muslim majority.

Please pray that Anas’s faith would grow, that he would be strengthened as he studies the Bible, and that, as he attends weekly discipleship meetings, the fruit of the Gospel would be evident in his life. May the story of Anas spur us all on to spread the Good News to those who have yet to hear it.
