Summer ESL Teachers at University in Lithuania

For a one-month assignment in July, the Summer Language Institute (SLI) at LCC is looking for qualified teachers to help at their three-week intensive English language program for students of high school age and above. Approximately 200 students from 10-15 different countries come together to learn English, communicate, live in community, and have fun together. Students benefit from learning in a safe, welcoming community with caring teachers and staff. SLI also serves as an introduction for many high school students to LCC’s model of Christian liberal arts education, which is unique in this region. 

Responsibilities:

Teachers will be required to attend all orientation sessions, assist with student registration, teach in the classroom three hours each working day, prepare appropriate English lessons, keep accurate class lists and attendance, participate in staff meetings and work cooperatively with other teachers.

Qualifications: 

Teachers are required to have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as general education, foreign or second language teaching methods (TESL,TESOL), linguistics, English, reading, or literacy. Teaching experience in ESL is preferred. 

Finances:

LCC provides housing for teachers, but does not cover other expenses, including travel to Lithuania and daily living expenses such as food and local transportation. Participants will be responsible for raising support for this ministry assignment.
