Medical Advocate: Burundi & Malawi

Would you consider being involved in individual and community transformation through holistic medical advocacy that shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ in tangible ways? Our vision is to promote the kingdom of God in its fullness, bringing whole-life change through medical advocacy in an African context.

Responsibilities:

As a Medical Advocate, you will be serving in Muramvya, Burundi; Dzaleka, Malawi; or in Niger to encourage best health care practices, facilitate healthcare as mission, and facilitate further development of clinics and hospitals through visioning and networking. Each of these countries has a unique medical initiative. The vision for Burundi and Malawi would be to join an existing team and facilitate best medical practices in their context, as well as be a catalyst for the further development of these healthcare and mission ministries. West Africa has a more developed medical center, and in that position would entail a greater level of hands-on medical work alongside local practitioners. We value a holistic approach that will address and foster relationship with Jesus Christ, healthy church integration, God-honoring ethics, and integrity in the marketplace.

Qualifications:
A medical degree as a doctor or nurse is required. International experience in healthcare is highly desired.

Commitment:

The earliest start date for this project would be 2021-09-01. While the ideal commitment would be a long-term assignment of one to eleven months, there is also an option for regular, annual short-term assignment of several weeks to several months per year. Contact your Regional Mobilizer to learn more about this opportunity.

Funding:

Participants will be responsible for raising the full support for their ministry assignment.
