King's Kid Poultry Project
King's Kid Farm produces food for King's Kid School in Uganda, where students are given a quality education, discipled and equipped in their Kingdom identity and purpose; students like Saul.
Saul is one of the young men that has been discipled through King's Kid Ministry in Uganda. Born to a single teenage mom, his life began with little hope for a future. Jesus saw his potential, and so did Pastor Robert and Esther Mponye, founders of King’s Kid School. They took in Saul and his mother, and discipled them through King’s Kid School and LifeHouse Church. Today, Saul is a missionary in northern Uganda, bringing the hope of the Gospel, healing, and discipleship to refugees. He says, "My heart for mission started at King's Kid School and LifeHouse Church. I wouldn't be who I am today without experiencing the love of Jesus through them."
While all food grown on the farm is used to meet the needs of students and those in the church community, this Poultry Project will be a daily source of income, allowing the farm to continue operations, increase its food production, and ultimately, further the goal of self-sustainability as a business initiative which will generate a source of income for the school.
The goal of this project is to raise 4000 hens for egg-laying. Once running, this will provide daily income that will not only sustain itself, but also provide money to cover farm expenses, and expand capacity to increase yield. This will be a prototype for a potential larger operation in the future. This project will include a feed store room and two buildings to house the birds. After two years, it is anticipated that egg production will allow the project to be able to maintain itself and feed back into the operation of the farm.
Our partners in Uganda have the vision, the ministry, and the land. All they need is the flock–and partners like you. Together, we can raise up more missional leaders like Saul. Will you join us?
