Disciple-Maker Multiplication Project

Many children and families in Brazil live in communities marked by economic hardship, geographic isolation, limited resources, and little or no exposure to the Gospel. Here, as in other regions of Latin America, there is often little sustained Christian presence outside of larger cities and urban centers. Remote communities throughout the Amazon and northeastern backlands are especially difficult to reach, such as the remote Quilombola communities—people of African ancestry who escaped slavery—where only three percent of the population have heard the Gospel.

The Disciple Maker Multiplication project is responding by reaching vulnerable children and adolescents, intentionally investing in their families, and raising up the next generation of church leaders in Brazil, and beyond. Each relationship formed with a child creates opportunities to build trust with parents and extended families, establish small groups, develop local leaders, and ultimately see new faith communities emerge to bring widespread Gospel transformation.

Multiply’s Regional Team Leader for Latin America, Emerson Cardoso, writes:

“Faithfulness to the Lord has always been connected to passing on His Word from generation to generation… when we love children, we also love their families. In strategic locations where we are intentionally engaging in the relational discipleship of children, new churches are now being birthed and old churches are being renewed. This is a powerful way to fulfill our mission!”

Donations to this project will help resource those who are leading this initiative as full-time missionaries, as well as provide for the training of emerging leaders to be actively involved in church planting. Your contribution will help the following leaders overcome logistical barriers to ministry, by providing them with the materials needed to expand discipleship programs and serve their communities more effectively.

This project is overseen by Emerson Cardoso, Multiply’s Regional Team Leader for Central and South America, in partnership with Associate Team Leader Franz Wolf and key national leaders in Brazil. Donors contributing to this project will be kept informed through reports from the field forwarded by our Donor Engagement Team.
