Wounaan Church Leadership Development in Colombia
Panamanian believers trained through the Indigenous School of Discipleship in Yaviza have been reaching out to their fellow Wounaan in the jungles of Colombia, where about 500 of this ethnic people group have not yet heard the Gospel. Because of this ministry, the Wounaan community in Buena Vista, Colombia, has become sufficiently established to obtain legal recognition as a Christian organization—which both protects them to some degree from persecution, and also allows them to reach other Indigenous communities with the Gospel.
Donations to this project will help support a June, 2026 training initiative aimed to equip and resource sixty Colombian Wounaan church leaders. Training will be overseen by various leaders from the Indigenous School of Discipleship in Panama, including the school’s founders, Multiply global workers Einer and Girlesa Zuluaga.
