Inauguration of Jyoti Niketan

Dear friends,

We are happy to bring you this update about the recent inauguration of the training center in North India. Your generosity has brought this project to completion, and we are excited to share with you how this new facility will bring the light of Christ to South Asia, a region with fewer churches and more unreached people groups than anywhere else in the world.

When we joined this ambitious project many months ago, we referred to the training center by its location but at the inauguration of the building on April 6, 2022, it was given the name Jyoti Niketan, which in the Hindi language means “center of light.”

This new five-story facility will be a strategic gathering place where churches and organizations will send their young people to be trained and equipped for ministry, which means that your investment in this project will bring impact to this region for many years to come. As Ravi John Sankara Rao, overseer of the center, said, “Our vision is that this center will be a dwelling of light, so that all the denominations, all the churches will come and use this facility to equip their leaders.”

Jyoti Niketan is a partnership initiative that has involved several organizations, including Multiply, in a joint effort to see leaders trained, churches planted, and the Gospel proclaimed in North India. Multiply’s Regional Team Leader for South Asia, Doug H, was at the inauguration in April, along with national partners, Sankara Rao of Divine Ministries International and Ramchand Saranu of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) India. It was a great occasion to celebrate our unity in Christ and our shared vision for Gospel ministry in North India.

Vic Wiens, Interim General Director of Multiply said, “We feel so privileged to be a part of this strategic effort to strengthen the work of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting in one of the neediest regions of the world.”

After months of planning and construction, Jyoti Niketan is now ready to serve the Church in North India and to receive hundreds of local leaders who will reach thousands across this vast region. The center will be used to host equipping events for church planters, pastoral seminars, as well as Discipleship Training Schools. “We are bringing the people of North India to be prepared,” said Sankara Rao, “so they can go back to their homes, to their churches, to their denominations as full-time Christians who bear witness to Jesus.”

Your partnership in this building project was essential to its completion, so we want to thank you sincerely for joining with us through giving and praying. It is satisfying to see the building phase completed, yet we are even more excited about how, in the days, months, and years to come, God will use this facility for his glory and for the growth of his kingdom in South Asia. Please join us in giving thanks to God today and join us in prayer as we look to the future and commit ourselves to the work of the Gospel in this needy part of the world. We look forward to sharing stories with you soon about what God is doing through Jyoti Niketan.

Our sincere thanks for your support and prayers.
