Last year, you gave generously to support the expansion of our global ministry. I’m writing today to thank you and to let you know about a few key areas that have been growing as a result.
New Mission Training Programs Globally
In addition to our Mission Training Programs in the US and Canada, we are now seeing similar programs develop around the world:
- Sudan: Our local partners ran their second Mission Training Program recently which saw many local believers trained and mobilized, including one young man who is now a missionary to neighboring Libya.
- Southeast Asia: Our workers started a new program in Thailand to train disciple makers from a neighboring country that is closed to the Gospel.
- South Asia: Our partners are training dozens of new church planters to support the rapid growth of the church in that region.
- Latin America: Our Regional Team Leader recently traveled to Costa Rica to visit local church networks and to explore opportunities to start Mission Training Programs throughout Central America.
- Brazil: Multiply leaders from eight different countries are now collaborating on a global Mission Training Program platform. A recent summit in Brazil allowed them to share vision, methods and results in a way that is strengthening our approach to training around the world.

Middle East Ministry Expansion
God is changing lives throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Despite much government opposition to the Gospel and the fact that many believers feel isolated and restricted, there are positive signs of growth. Our Regional Team Leader, Nasser al’Qahtani, has gathered together a team of local church leaders from across this region who are providing essential support to one another and finding ways to make Jesus known among the people of these Muslim nations. The network is called River of Life and, with your help, it continues to grow.
River of Life is involved in discipling new believers, training other church leaders, and planting new churches in the region. There are also successful campaigns to distribute Bibles, to offer online Bible classes, and to follow up with inquiries from Gospel presentations on social media.
As many of you know, Nasser was born and raised as a Muslim in the heart of the Middle East and therefore he has a unique perspective on how the Gospel is impacting this part of the world today. As River of Life continues to grow, Nasser is so encouraged by the fruit that he is seeing, both in the leaders’ relationships with one another and in how the Gospel is changing lives in their countries. Please pray for this network, as Nasser will be meeting with many of these leaders in the coming weeks at a location within the region. For a recent story about ACTION Arabia, click here.
New Indigenous Partnerships
In August, three key members of our Indigenous ministries in North America responded to an invitation from our Regional Team Leader in Latin America, Emerson Cardoso. John Johnstone, Billie Jo Isaac, and Derek Parenteau were able to visit an emerging network of churches among Indigenous peoples along the Amazon River in Brazil.
The two groups bonded with one another as First Peoples. They were encouraged by each other’s stories, and they began to dream about their role in bringing the Gospel to more First Peoples throughout the world.
This is a very new connection, and there is no formal partnership yet, but a friendship has begun and it is an example of the rich relationships within our global MB family.
For a full report of this trip, including photos, click here for Emerson’s most recent newsletter.
In the last few months of 2023, we are focusing on growth in Latin America, where our favor in the larger Christian community continues to grow rapidly, and in the Middle East, where the Gospel is spreading quickly and local churches have quadrupled in the past few years, creating a desperate need for further discipleship and mission training.
We are praying and asking for $60,000 USD, to fund the remaining ministry growth initiatives planned in 2023 and help us finish the year well. Would you be willing to give to help us expand our ministry globally and make Jesus known in our world today?
Sincerely,
Bruce Enns
