Shalom Farm Lodging

Will you help disciple and provide vocational training to at-risk women in Thailand?

Your donations to this project, under the umbrella project of Chiangmai Freedom, will help provide bathroom facilities and dorm housing for those who are being offered vital vocational training and discipleship on Shalom Farm.

Siriwan Trakunhan is one of Multiply’s key national partners in Thailand. Over the years, she has served in many capacities: working at the Chiang Mai office, teaching the Bible at a juvenile detention center with Carmen Owen and Cynthia Friesen, and founding Freedom Trades, a vocational training program for women released from prison.

More recently, Siriwan has been overseeing discipleship training at Naomi House - a church plant and vocational skills training center that employs and disciples at-risk women released from the juvenile detention center. Through Naomi House, Siriwan and her husband Wichian have now launched a community development and sustainable living project with a vision to expand this discipleship ministry even further. The project is called Shalom Farm.

Shalom Farm is a 1000-tree papaya farm in which this couple invested in 2020, using their own funds to offer self-sustaining employment to those in need while discipling them in the words and ways of Jesus. Today, this farm is producing so much fruit that it is being given away to members of the community and women in the juvenile prison. Profits are even used to help cover schooling costs for local children.

With Siriwan and Wichian devoting more of their time to this venture, there are currently several interns from Naomi House who are being trained on the farm, with more are anticipated to join from other MB church plants. However, there are as yet no proper accommodations; they sleep in tents, and without bathroom facilities. There is an urgent need to build lodging for themselves and for those that are being and will be trained at the farm.
