This unique French-speaking Canadian province is home to 8.3 million people and is often referred to as a “nation within a nation.” Spiritually, Québec has become a dark place that religious sociologists have named the “least- reached region in all of the Americas.”

However, things are changing in Québec. Today, a new spiritual hunger is being expressed by young adults whose parents have walked away from their faith traditions. Hundreds of people are coming to faith in Jesus and being baptized in new churches throughout Québec. Our regional director, Patrice Nagant, is on the ground helping to identify and train up new leaders to further the Gospel in this province. More than fourteen pastoral couples have received the training that our organization offers, and four apprenticeship couples are following in their footsteps. Multiply is on the leading edge of what promises to become a modern-day revival movement.

Marc Pilon is one of the pastors who is making a profound impact in this region. Marc’s reputation as a church planter has brought him to become a nation-wide advisor, consultant and conference speaker in the area of starting new churches. He pastors Axe21, and is the founder of Transform Québec, an organization that specializes in bringing societal change in Québec. Marc is also the Director of Development of LeaderImpact in Québec, helping marketplace leaders explore the relevance of faith in their lives.

In a recent interview, Marc spoke of the need to change our perspective on church planting to encompass the pastoring of an entire city.

“To reach our city, we needed to find ways to let the salt out, because keeping all of that good salt in the saltshaker was useless. We had too many strong Christians serving in the church and focusing too much on how to structure ourselves. We needed to get them out into our city.”  read more

After voluntarily giving up his salary, Marc began to focus on involvement in civic committees, the Chamber of Commerce, networking with strategic and influential people within his city and spearheading projects for the revitalization of the inner city core. During one lunch with a civic leader, he was told, “I want to be involved in whatever your church wants to do in our city to help those in need. I want to be involved with you guys with whatever you’re doing in terms of leadership in our city. And I want to know Jesus.”

Marc’s audacious vision includes the planting of 25,000 churches in this province over the next forty years. Multiply is investing in leaders like Marc to transform Québec.

our church-planting teams

Since we are all multipliers, we all belong on a team, or on multiple teams. In alignment with our tagline "together that the world may know", our teams are made up of people who are committed to making Jesus known in a particular area. Which team are you on?
