MULTIPLY Network - Eastern Canada

Multiply Eastern Canada is seeking a passionate Christ-follower who has a deep love for the church and longs to see  it grow in mission and live in the fullness of its call to be and bring Good News, both locally and globally. (This full time role could be shared with another person in 2 half-time capacities or other creative combinations). This role  has a relational funding component to it but is fully salaried for the first year. 

Objectives

To participate in the Great Commission by serving the North American Mennonite Brethren (MB) church, calling it  (and individuals) into mission; engaging people, prayer and support for missions, helping people to recognize and  respond to the call of God, in order to multiply spiritually healthy disciples and missionally-minded spiritual leaders  through mission training assignments.  

To nurture spiritual development in denominational members within the MB Churches of Ontario, Quebec and the  Atlantic Provinces toward becoming missionaries that engage in holistic church planting among the least reached. This role is an appointment by the Mennonite Brethren denomination in Canada into full-time ministry service with  MULTIPLY Network (hereinafter referred to as “Multiply”). As such, you are set apart as a spiritual leader.

Spiritual Leadership  

Your life shows clear evidence of a strong commitment to following Jesus, God’s Word, listening the Holy Spirit and  you demonstrate the ability to disciple and train others as followers of Christ.

Primary Job Functions/Essential Outcomes

1. Eastern Canada Mission Training (Short Term Mission) Leadership  

  • Responsible for the review and development of mission training programs/events in conjunction with  regional church mission vision.  
    • Supervise Regional staff implementing mission training programs/events  
  • Mobilize and disciple individuals into a variety of short term and long term mission service opportunities.  

2. Catalytic Mission Initiatives  

  • Develop pathways for churches and disciple individuals to engage in mission initiatives locally and globally  o Develop, test and launch Business as Mission (BAM) projects (i.e. Lighthouse Coffee) that both engage  the local church in discipleship on mission and support global mission projects (i.e. Myanmar Church  Planting).  
    • Integrate various initiatives (BL4P, Sports, BAM, etc) into mission training. 

3. Develop a network of personal prayer and financial partners.  

  • Encourage and grow the spiritual maturity of partners via regular communication and prayer for them. 
  • Cultivate relationships with potential new support partners to grow partnership base  

4. While carrying out these Responsibilities and Expectations, you are also expected to:  

  • Model Multiply values as outlined and agreed upon in the Multiply Christian Foundations and Standards 
  • Become proficient in organizational systems (Vine, database), activities and budgets related to your region  and your specific involvement

 

Qualifications/Requirements

Credentials: 

  • Completed post-secondary education  
  • Must be (or become) a Credentialed pastor within the Mennonite Brethren Church under either a  provincial MB conference or the national MB conference  
  • Must be (or become) a Member in good standing within a Mennonite Brethren Church, baptized and  professing to follow the MB Confession of Faith  

Related Work Experience:  

  • Experience with church planting and/or church leadership  
  • Cross-cultural intelligence, mission and disciple making experience  

Working Conditions:  

  • Based in Ontario (The Multiply Eastern Canada office is in Kitchener, but a candidate does not necessarily  have to live in that region. Weekly in-office time is expected).  
  • Travel within eastern Canada and internationally as required  
  • Evenings and weekends as required  
  • Hours: Full time position and eligible for regular benefits and pension as per CCMBC/Multiply HR policy.
  • Starting Wage: Based on experience and industry standards.  
  • Reports to: Regional Mobilizer  
  • Term of Contract: Permanent after probation period with annual reviews
