Elementary English and Music Teacher in Thailand
Would you like to take your teaching skills to Thailand to serve in a rural village setting?
We are looking for a mature person who is able to relocate into a rural village in northern Thailand for a year to teach English and music in a local elementary school. Mae Phrao is a Khmu village three hours from Chiang Mai. This volunteer would need to persevere in uncomfortable conditions. They would need to have cross-cultural experience and be able to embrace rural living, Khmu-style food, and likely no air conditioning. As well, this would be a highly social and communal setting, so privacy would be uncommon. They would need to be a pastoral encourager with a heart for prayer.
The basic requirement for this position is a High School Diploma and some experience with teaching English. A teaching degree is not required, although TESL training would be a huge asset.
The earliest start date would be August 2020 and the expected commitment would be one to eleven months. Participants will be responsible for raising support for this ministry assignment.
